Minjonet

Minjonet pronounced Me-Ba-Nay means "petite blue flower" in french. Minjonet is our blue brindle pied female who has blossomed into a real dream come true. Minjonet is 18 lbs and has such a nice large head, short nose and gentle eye. This girl is smart and has been so easy to train. Minjonet will let you do anything and enjoys being held like a baby. Our thanks goes out to Traci for including us in the purchase of Minjonet and Dragon.

Livia was born on May 13th 2008 to Minjonet and Dragon. She is out of a litter of 6 blue pied babies. This little girl has a total baby doll face that is good for lots of kisses. We are so thrilled with the quality she is and even more excited to watch her grow. Please be sure to check in often for new pictures!!

Dragon

Dragon is our blue fawn pied stud dog. Dragon has very strong markings with his blue outline and blue mask. He is heavy boned,short and cobby with an excellent head and great wrinkles. Dragon has quality written all over him!! This guy is very laid back and loves our 1 yr old son. We are so excited to see what he produces for us.

So what is Blue??

The diluted gene "d" is responsible for changing the black pigment to blue. A blue brindle is a brindle dog that carries the "d" gene which causes the black hairs to become blue. There are different types of blue including Blue masked fawn. This is when the black mask is blue instead. Our blue French bulldogs are AKC registered. Blue frenchies can not be shown in conformations events. The breed standard for the French bulldog states ACCEPTABLE colors are, brindle, fawn, white and brindle and white. However they will register any purebred French bulldog. There is no mention of the color "BLUE" in the frenchie standard nor is the color Gray. However Gray/white is listed as a color choice on the AKC's descriptive breed colors that a person can choose when registering their frenchie. The AKC does not write the breed standards. The parent club for each AKC recognized breed writes the standard for their respective breed. The French Bulldog Club of America (FBDCA) wrote the standard over 100 years ago.

The color blue does not affect the health of a French Bulldog. Blue French bulldogs have many dogs in their lines that are all of common colors in the AKC conformation show ring. A Blue is just as healthy as a brindle or fawn!!
